How Is Your Pet’s Weight?
We want to help you maintain your pet’s optimal weight so you have many healthy years together. Below are links you can use to determine your pet’s weight level. If you feel you need diet advice for your pet, please give us a call…We could all probably use diet advice after this winter. 🙂 It’s not uncommon for pets to be overweight; it’s as easy for them to gain as it is for us and happens for many of the same reasons.

Wet vs. Dry Food for Cats
Years ago we recommended dry food for cats, but we’ve learned a lot since and now recommend wet. Wet food contains more meat, fewer carbs, and more water–all important aspects for cats who are obligate carnivores and don’t benefit from grains. Cats in the wild get most of their water from their food. For extensive info on feeding cats, we recommend Dr. Lisa Pierson’s website catinfo.org. Please call us with any questions.
A Reminder about Heartworm Meds
For all those who winter in the North, you can stop giving your dogs Heartworm medication after December.
Remember to start up again in May, and come in for the 4DX test when we let you know it’s due.
Here’s hoping we have a shorter winter this year!
Celebrating 30 Years!
We’ve just passed the 30-year mark! Dr. F. opened HAHC in the spring of 1986. We’re honored to have been a part of the North Shore community for all these years, meeting so many great people and caring for so many great pets. Thanks to all for this opportunity.
